Nguyen Le Vi can't walk a block without stopping to say 'hi' to all of the passing pets. Local Saigonese with an oddly Californian accent. She's creative, confident, extremely perfectionist, with an eye for fashion.
Daryl Rosser is your typical nerd that loves books, video games, and never found more than 2 metres away from his laptop. Born and raised in the UK, he's a bit of a nomad, having travelled to 15+ countries and counting.
What started as a search for professional assistance quickly turned into something much more complicated (and infinitely better)...
When one of us posted a job listing for an assistant and the other applied, what was supposed to be a straightforward interview became a chemistry exercise. But we reluctantly kept things professional—right up until Vi politely declined the position for another opportunity.
Naturally, this seemed like the perfect moment for Daryl to throw caution to the wind and ask her out instead. (Note from Daryl: Actually, she left her the door open for me to ask her).
4 cakes later. Yes, we really did eat 4 cakes on our first date...
We knew we'd met the right person. Or Daryl knew at least, Vi gave him 70%.
3 years. Many adventures. 1000s of memories.
Our first date - where we ate 4 cakes and knew this was something special. The beginning of our journey together.
Our first picture together at a random coffee shop in Da Lat. Also our first trip together.
Our first and last time ice skating together
Introduction to the family
First family picture
First Tet (Vietnamese New Year) with the family
Eating our way through Seoul. First time travelling together internationally.
Apparently we both do this
Experiencing the cold. First trip to the UK.
First time ever hosting the family for dinner. Barbecue lasted 20 minutes, before the rain ruined it.
Another Saigon Christmas with the family… and presents, lots of presents.
Back in Da Lat again, with the boys this time
Travelling to Hue and Da Nang with sister and family. She carried the ring from the UK to Vietnam for us, Vi didn't know yet.
The day he proposed at a picnic in Da Lat
Being silly together
Freezing our butts off
Back in Da Lat again, supposed to be looking at wedding venues. Pretty sure we're just getting married here as an excuse to visit even more.
Private, beautiful picnic in Da Lat with a photographer that missed the "documentary" memo.
Everything had to be perfect. The whole day. A stunning suite in Mercure Dalat under the guise of an anniversary trip. Breakfast in bed, a huge blue bouquet (Sapphire ring hint), private picnic, and a romantic dinner at the hotel.
And it was going wonderfully, until the secret photographer wouldn't stop asking us to pose. Which wouldn't be so bad, until it started pouring with rain before there was time to propose.
Finally, the rain cleared. The lights came on. The clouds looked like a fairytale. And he asked...
No words. Just put that ring on my finger.
And then she said yes. Or I do. Or something. We both were happily, barely making any sense at that point.
We can't wait to begin the next chapter together on the 26th April 2026. We hope you can celebrate this special day with us.
